Abstract

Albania was one of the Balkan countries that came under the control of the Ottoman Empire at the end of the fourteenth century. After four centuries of living under the umbrella of the Ottoman Empire and being exposed to various types of violence and neglect, the Albanian national consciousness began to emerge to get rid of Ottoman control, especially after the Treaty of San Stefano in 1878, which emerged. It contains the ambitions of European countries in Albanian lands, so the Albanian leaders formed the League of Prizren on June 10, 1878, to thwart any danger that threatened to divide their country. Then, many revolutions and uprisings appeared in many Albanian cities, their concern was to demand the autonomy of Albania, but these uprisings faced violent resistance from The Ottoman forces ended up eliminating it. On the other hand, cultural and educational institutions inside and outside Albania played a major role in spreading national awareness among people and highlighting the issue Albanians are in front of the world to sympathize with them, in addition to the role of Italian Albanians in supporting and independence of Albania through the activity of associations, conferences, newspapers and speeches that promoted and publicized the Albanian cause. The feelings of Albanian discontent and resentment reached their peak in 1910, and after rebellions and difficult struggles for the Albanians within the regional competition to expand in the Balkans and the European competition to extend its influence in the region, Albania was born with difficulty at the end of 1912, thus obtaining its complete independence from the Ottoman Empire, and the borders of its state were determined in 1913
