Article Processing Charges (APC)
As an open-access journal, Al-Rafidain Dental Journal (RDENTJ) is committed to making research freely available to readers worldwide. To cover the costs of peer review, editing, typesetting, and online hosting, an Article Processing Charge (APC) is required only after the manuscript has been accepted for publication.
-
APC amount: 100,000 Iraqi Dinars (IQD)
-
When charged: Invoiced only after acceptance
-
What it covers: Peer review management, editorial handling, DOI registration, plagiarism screening, online hosting, and archiving
-
No additional charges: RDENTJ does not charge for submission, page length, figures, or color illustrations
APC Waivers and Discounts
To support equitable participation in scholarly publishing, RDENTJ offers waivers and discounts on APCs to eligible authors based on country income classifications and financial need.
Who is eligible?
-
Full APC waivers are available for corresponding authors affiliated with institutions in low-income countries, as defined by the World Bank’s annual classification.
-
Partial discounts may be offered to authors from lower-middle-income countries or those who can demonstrate financial hardship or lack of institutional funding.
How to apply:
-
Authors must request a waiver or discount during the initial manuscript submission process.
-
Requests should be submitted via a brief cover letter or by selecting the appropriate option in the journal's online submission system (if available).
-
Waiver applications should include a short justification and the author’s country of affiliation.
Editorial independence:
-
All waiver and discount requests are handled confidentially and separately from the peer review process.
-
Decisions to grant or deny waivers do not affect editorial or reviewer decisions and are made independently of the manuscript's scientific content.
Transparency Statement
RDENTJ is fully committed to ethical publishing practices in accordance with the COPE Core Practices and Principles of Transparency and Best Practice in Scholarly Publishing (jointly published by COPE, DOAJ, OASPA, and WAME). We aim to ensure:
-
Clarity: All publication fees and policies are stated openly and are accessible prior to manuscript submission.
-
Fairness: Authors are never judged on their ability to pay APCs.
-
Accessibility: Our waiver policy ensures that financial barriers do not prevent the publication of quality research.
