Abstract

The study aims to identify the citation references of intellectual output utilized by researchers in master's theses within the field of information and knowledge technologies. This includes determining the structural characteristics of the intellectual output, such as linguistic, temporal, formal, and subject distribution, and identifying the prominent authors and titles referenced in the researchers' studies. The study also examines the most cited foreign and Arabic journals used by researchers. The statistical and content analysis methods were employed to analyze the intellectual output referenced in the master's theses completed in the Department of Information and Knowledge Technologies during the period 2012-2023.The study arrived at several key findings, notably that the number of intellectual references cited in the completed theses by researchers in the department from 2012-2023 reached 3243 citations, with Arabic intellectual output accounting for the majority at 2528 citations, while foreign citations amounted to 715. Among the studys main recommendations is the need to enhance and support co-authorship initiatives among researchers, as this can lead to more enriched and comprehensive scientific work in terms of objectivity and global reach. Encouraging research collaboration, particularly through publication in scientific journals, boosts the quality of research outputs and facilitates faster completion.
