Abstract

The study aims to determine the effectiveness of the strategy of asking questions in acquiring grammatical rules among students of the Fine Arts Institutes for Boys and developing their induction and deduction skills. The quasi-experimental design was used, with the note card as they suit the nature of the research. The sample of the study consisted of (38) students from the first stage at the Institute, which has five departments. The plastic Arts Department was chosen as a control group consisting of (18) students, and the Calligraphy Department was chosen as an experimental group consisting of (20) students in a simple random manner. The control group have been taught in the traditional method and the experimental group in the method of asking questions. The results showed that there were statistically significant differences in the acquisition of grammatical rules and the development of the induction and deduction skills among the institutes students due to the strategy of asking questions and in favor of the experimental group. In light of the results, a number of recommendations were made.
