The changes taking place in society, the change in the mechanisms and dynamics of society, and globalization have been accompanied by a decline in the provision of social support and assistance to the elderly, which is considered one of the stages of life that is generally surrounded by a type of disturbance on the physiological and psychological level, which is represented by inactivity, helplessness, isolation, and great emptiness. This transitional stage of Young people in old age need the state, society, and family support and social support that gives them the motivation to continue life, face their problems, and meet their psychological, social, and economic needs, so that they can also deal with accidents and crises more effectively after being referred to retirement. This is why we decided to explain the role of social service in achieving social support. Economic studies for elderly retirees in the city of Mosul to arrive at some solutions and results on the subject. As the research included two theoretical and field aspects, the basic elements of the problem and importance of the research and its objectives were addressed, as well as the application of two related theories, including social exchange and integrative theory, in addition to the field aspect in which the questionnaire was distributed to a group of retired elderly people of both sexes and in a random cross-sectional method, which was used in analyzing the data.
