Abstract

Critical methods in the study of the text have diversified, differing based on their perspectives and conceptions of textual analysis. Their critical procedures have also varied according to the philosophical foundations from which they originated. Accordingly, the critical stages of the methods, in relation to their treatment of the text, have been classified into three:The first stage has been given several terminological designations, including: the stage of externalities of the text, pre-text, or the context of the text. The most widely circulated and famous term among Arab critics is the contextual stage. This stage refers to the beginning of all external stimuli, influences, and contexts that contributed to the birth of the text, such as: psychological motivation, historical influence, social influence, personal feeling, and others. The second stage has been called: the textual stage, the stage of internalities of the text, inside the text, or the system of the text. The most widely circulated and famous term among critics is the systemic stage. This stage refers to the beginning of the text's organization, the relationships and connections within it, and the influence of the formation of relations, differences, systems, and structures that constitute meanings and aesthetics. The final stage is the stage of the recipient, or the stage of the aesthetics of reception, or theories of reading and reception, or theories of reception and interpretation, which rely on interpretive criticism. In this research, we will address systemic criticism as a path belonging to the textual stage. To explain this, we will dedicate two sections: the first to address the problem of systemic criticism, and the second to its applications.
