Abstract

The human terracotta figures are considered to be one of main features of ancient Mesopotamian civilization. They reflected how the ancient Iraqi Artist advanced in two advanced areas, in terms of technical and artisan and how much it influences on intellectual, social and religious aspects. This topic will discuss unpublished human terracotta figures which are uncovered by the University of Musil at Tell Halawa, Hamrin, between 1978-1980 A.D. Thirty eight human figures (female and male) and ten pottery plaques were uncovered. Most of these figures are dated to the Old Babylonian Period.
