Evaluation of Woman's Practice about Puerperal Infection in Baghdad City

Abstract
Background: Puerperal sepsis, also known aspostpartum infection, is a serious condition that can occur if bacteria infect the genital tract. Its one of the leading causes of maternal mortality and morbidity worldwide.Objectives: To evaluate women's practices about puerperal infections and find out the relationship between study variables and women's practices about puerperal infections.Methodology: A descriptive analytic study has been conducted to pregnant and postpartum woman's from the period of January 20th 2021 to April 12th 2021. A purposive (non-probability) sample which consisted of (100) woman's. The sample which collected from maternity hospitals in Baghdad city. The data has been collected through a questionnaire format through interview with the study sample. Data are analyzed through the use Excel (Statistical package) and SPSS Statistics version 24.0. and Descriptive statistic was used to analyze data.Results: The results of the study revealed that the highest percentages of women (30%) within age group (31-35) years, (29 %) were primary school, (43%) were doing caesarean section, (94%)Using soap when washing the breast, (89 %) Not completely emptying the bladder during urination(88 %) use of internal douching and there is no significance relationship between studied Variables and womens practice about postpartum infections.Conclusions: The study concluded that the highest percentage of answer to study group are low for items related to womens practices about postpartum infectionsand there is no significance relationship between studied Variables and womens practice about postpartum infections
