The Degree of Availability of Supervisory Practices Educational Supervisors in Educational Administrations in Saudi Arabia in View of Electronic Governance

Abstract

The current research aims to identify the extent to which the dimensions of e-governancenamely, electronic disclosure, electronic participation, electronic accountability, and electronic presenceare present in the supervisory practices of educational supervisors in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia from the perspectives of heads of departments and subject supervisors. The study adopted a descriptive methodology and utilized a questionnaire as a data collection tool.The research population consisted of all heads of educational supervision departments and subject supervisors in five general education administrations in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia: The General Directorate of Education in Hail, Riyadh, Jazan, Dammam, and Madinah. The total population size was 1,061 heads of departments and subject supervisors. A sample of 292 participants was selected, and the questionnaire was administered to them.The findings revealed that the extent of the presence of e-governance dimensions in the supervisory practices of educational supervisors within these educational administrations was high from the participants' perspectives. These dimensions were ranked from most to least prevalent as follows: electronic disclosure, electronic presence, electronic accountability, and electronic participation.Based on the results, the researcher proposed several recommendations and suggestions, including establishing a clear organizational and legislative framework to define the roles and responsibilities of educational supervisors within the context of e-governance, developing specialized training programs to enhance the technical skills of educational supervisors, and creating shared electronic communication platforms between supervisors and teachers to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and expertise
