The gathering of words derived from the same root to express a general meaning that links the origins of that root and unites its derivatives is called "original polysemy." Multiple words must share a general or common meaning that connects them. Ibn Faris referred to these general shared meanings that revolve around the words of the root as "origins." In doing so, he introduced a new semantic dimension to the Arabic lexicon. He is considered a pioneer in this field and its application. This idea characterizes the *Mu’jam Maqayis al-Lugha* (Dictionary of Linguistic Measures), highlighting one of its key features, which is the concept of shared origin
